Event Log

R-Studio logs and displays events in the Log panel. You may set a Log filter to display only needed information and to write it to a log file.

To set a Log filter

Right-click the Log panel and select Log Filter... on the shortcut menu, or

Select Log Filter... on the Tools menu

Select required options on the Log dialog box and click the OK button

Type

 

MFT File

If this check box is selected, R-Studio logs all events with an MFT file.

MFT Attributes

If this check box is selected, R-Studio logs all events with MFT attributes.

Decompress

If this check box selected, R-Studio logs all events with decompression of NTFS compressed objects.

FAT

If this check box is selected, R-Studio logs all events with FAT.

Recover

If this check box is selected, R-Studio logs all events with the recovering processes.

Disk

If this check box is selected, R-Studio logs all events with disks.

Network

If this check box is selected, R-Studio logs all events with network operation.

Windows

If this check box is selected, R-Studio logs all Windows-related events.

Severity

 

Error

If this check box is selected, R-Studio adds error messages into its log.

Warning

If this check box is selected, R-Studio adds warning messages into its log.

Information

If this check box is selected, R-Studio adds information messages into its log.

Success

If this check box is selected, R-Studio adds success messages into its log.

NEVER WRITE A LOG FILE ON THE DISK FROM WHICH YOU RECOVER DATA!!!

Or you may obtain unpredictable results and lose all your data.

Log to File

If this check box is selected, R-Studio writes its log into a log file specified in the Log to File: field.

Rewrite/Append

Select it if you want to rewrite a log file, or append log information to this file.

Note: If in the Recover dialog box the Condense successful restoration events check box is selected, the Log will display only Error, Warning, and Information event messages.

ÜR-Studio will show only those log events that match the specified options

Or you may obtain unpredictable results and lose all your data.

You may clear or save the log

To clear the log,

¡Select Clear Log on the Tools menu, or

Right-click the Log panel and select Clear Log on the shortcut menu.

To save the log to a file,

¡Select Save Log to File on the Tools menu, or

Right-click the Log panel and select Save Log to File on the shortcut menu.
